I have seen a lot of posts on the forums about this and i thought i ll tell you how i did it so maybe you can save yourself some of the grief that i went through.
How to fix door lock actuator f150.
The door close sensor plug purple is very close to actuator but does not have to be moved.
The worst part of this is that you are fixing something that you cannot actually see and can barely feel.
Unlatch with screwdriver shown and work up and off of metal guides one on either side of where the screwdriver is two short metal parts.
If you look at the actuator you will see it is slid up against a metal plate.
Once the rivet was out the actuator will swing freely from a rod that connects to the actual door latch mechanism.
Pull the entire lock mechanism up and guide it out of the door.
There is a hole right below the yellow connector that the rod needs to sit in.
I finally replaced the power door lock actuator on my 1990 big bronco xlt.
Attach the plastic door lock actuator back onto the assembly with two screws.
Put the motor back in and zip tied the assy along with some sealer on the plastic rivets.
Then reinstall on the latch assy making sure the rod on the lock motor is lined up with the locking arm on the latch.
Push in on the clip near the bottom of the door using a screwdriver to release it.
Slide the looooong screwdriver in there and start prying it out.
Notice lock rod is rotated to right.
Take your time and work it out little by little eventually the tab will snap and the actuator will almost fall off its mounting rail.
Equip cars trucks suvs with 2013 ford f150 door lock actuator from autozone.
Install the white plastic cover back onto the lock and actuator assembly by securing it with the two other screws you removed previously.
Remove wires from door lock actuator and the door closed sensor.
Reinstall the plastic cover and replace the assembly.
