Lay a drop cloth on the floor and pop off the two plugs covering the roller adjustment screws at the bottom of the sliding door frame. To realign your door in the tracks at the top and bottom of the frame remove the door from the track and reinsert it. Open the door about half way lift it straight up and pull the bottom toward yourself until it is free of the track. Most sliding doors manage to get knocked off kilter at one point or another.

Test the door for the location of the leak. Spray the door and look for the leak location. Start with a good cleaning. Insert a flathead screwdriver into each hole and turn the screw counterclockwise all the way.

Built up dirt or loose debris can cause a door to stop sliding and ride off the track. When the bottom of the door clears the track at the bottom lower. Each time you vacuum your floors use a small brush attachment or cordless vacuum to clean the sliding door tracks. Begin the fix by cleaning the bottom door track.

Keep a firm grip on both edges of the door while you do this. If the door still doesn t slide smoothly the rollers under the door either need adjusting or are shot. If a malfunctioning sliding door is a chronic problem see if the track is dirty. Lift the door up and tilt it toward you.

Scrub caked dirt and grime out of the track with a stiff brush and soapy water. This retracts the rollers lowering the door. In addition to cleaning and lubricating sliding door tracks you want to lubricate the door lock. Use the blade of an old screwdriver to pry stubborn dirt loose.

You can order rollers and other door parts for repairing sliding doors through lumberyards and home centers or online. These are sometimes located in the edges of the door. Sliding glass door repair will get the job done. Remove the door from the opening by grasping it with both hands on either side of the door.

Use the adjusting screws at the bottom of the metal door frame to raise or lower the rollers. You may like my other videos. Apply a lubricant to both upper and lower tracks to keep the door hardware clean and operating freely. Use a wire brush to clean off the dirt or debris.

Make sure the rollers at the top are aligned first then walk the bottom of the door into place pushing the top of the screen door up into the track. If you cannot re create the leak problem inspect the interior of the door for stains or rust.
