I bet if you take it to the machine shop they ll tell you to properly fix it they will have to bore all 8 cylinders turn the crank hot tank new cam bearings and before you know it they ll have the tab up to a 1000 bucks.
He changed out the plug and has been driving it for the last year like that.

Guys there is a tiny scratch in my truck s engine.
It is a fairly deep scratch easily catch a fingernail on it.
If they don t end up being good well then atleast you can weigh the costs of having a machine shop rebuild it or possibly find a used short long block in good condition.
I will pick up a caliper measuring tool to confirm.

If the motors out of the car just run a hone through it.

I dont know if you can buy 1 set of rings if not a set of cast iron rings are cheap.
It s a decent scratch or maybe even considered a light gouge.
