Fitting an internal door.
The job of fitting an interior door can be broken down into several steps.
Knock out the spacer at the top of the frame and insert the sliding track into the cavity.
Align the doors so the end doors are plumb to the side walls.
The issue with fitting a sliding door is that you will probably have to change the timber door stops that the hinged door closed against to frame plates in order to allow the door to overlap the frame equally at each side and the top.
Once you ve chosen your internal doors it s time to get out those tools and fit them.
After this work has been done you will need to allow for new facing plates with the lintol being made twice the width that it was to ensure you can fit the sliding door track too.
If your existing internal doors are looking tired and worn maybe it s time to replace them.
Install the bump stops in the centre and at the end of the tracks to stop the doors rolling too far in either direction.
It also creates space for the new sliding door away from the wall to clear the trim.

Install the frame into your stud wall.
