Follow these steps to clean your detector. On hardwired smoke detectors you may need to press and hold the reset button to make the chirping noise stop. Remove the face of the detector. It could be brace yourself that a spider has made itself cozy inside the alarm.

This chirping will continue for at least a week if you don t change the batteries. If there s a lot of dust build up try using a mild detergent to help remove it. Use a vacuum hose or a small brush to clean out all of the dust. Remove the face of the alarm.
